Claude for Word is now in beta. Draft, edit, and revise documents directly from the sidebar. Claude preserves your formatting, and edits appear as tracked changes. Available on Team and Enterprise plans. [video]

Anthropic just dropped Claude inside Microsoft Word. Imagine drafting and editing documents without leaving Word. Claude can now write with tracked changes and keeps your formatting intact. [video]

How did Anthropic do automation to Word, PowerPoint and Excel before Microsoft 365 Copilot?

Even my AI is giving Microsoft shit at https://alignednews.com/ai It writes: Claude is now natively in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. That is 450 million users. Microsoft spent $13 billion building Copilot. They own 27% of OpenAI. And somehow Anthropic just walked into their house

Anthropic just put Claude inside Microsoft Word. a sidebar that can draft, edit, review, and comment on documents without pushing users into a separate chat window. Given the model now works on the document itself, so its edits show up as native tracked changes, its replies can […

Who uses word???? Serious question. Since Google docs came out that is all I used, who is paying to write word documents?

Making a venture bet on legal AI is really hard.

what's crazy about claude coming for this is that microsoft already tried...copilot was supposed to do exactly this, it had everything but somhow flopped microsoft didn't even fight it they even added a dropdown to pick claude over their own AI lol and it's becoming pretty

This is the feature I have been patiently waiting for! Unfortunately, even judging solely from this 1-minute demo, the model's drafting ability is very poor. - Proudly tells the user that it fixed the parties' names, but fails to implement this fix in the signature block. - [imag…

lol what is the underlying value of suites of software like this if they're augmented by ai actually creating / editing / understanding the content? go see my post on office 365 which got me some hate dm's. the underlying canvas for almost everything augmented by ai is going to

somehow, Microsoft has 75+ products or tools with the “Copilot” name and none of them work as well as Claude for Excel, Powerpoint and — now — Word [image]

Also the fact that MICROSOFT which OWNS BILLIONS IN OPENAI EQUITY and is shoving its own AI tool, COPILOT (which sucks) in 78 different interfaces, is getting brutally PRODUCT MOGGED by a competitor IN ITS OWN PRODUCTS is just crazy.

man anthropic is absolutely cooking microsoft. claude now works natively in word, powerpoint and excel. thats 450M users but how the fuck did anthropic beat microsoft co-pilot? it gets worse - microsoft blew $13B creating co-pilot and owns 27% of openai yet no sign on chatgpt. [v…

Anthropic just released Claude for Word. Claude can now work across documents in a single conversation. Really makes me wonder how $MSFT fumbled so badly. THEY should have released these products. I guess that's why their stock is in the toilet this year.
  • @stevesi Steven Sinofsky on x
Claude is doing this in the sidebar because they don't have access to the Word code. But why did Microsoft rush to do this work in the sidebar before integrating it directly? Even when we first added HTML to Word, we did so in the most native way we could.

Microsoft Word documents are where the real power in every company lives. The contracts. The board memos. The termination letters. The $400M acquisition agreements. Not Slack. Not email. The .docx file that gets signed, gets litigated, gets audited. Claude just graduated to beta

Claude is now inside Microsoft Word. drafts. edits. revisions. tracked changes. all of it. Microsoft built Word 42 years ago and needed Anthropic to finish it 💀

⚡️A first year lawyer at a big firm bills $400 an hour to redline NDAs. That's the first task you get as a junior associate. You sit in an office at 11pm marking up contracts, catching inconsistencies, flagging risk language, suggesting revisions. It's tedious. It's high
