Anthropic says it's testing an AI model that's a “step change” in performance after a draft blog post in an unsecured data store revealed a Claude Mythos model

AI company Anthropic is developing and has begun testing with early access customers a new AI model more capable …

Anthropic has been testing a new model called “Mythos” with certain customers: - a “step change” in AI capabilities, including “dramatically higher scores” in coding, academic reasoning and cybersecurity - “currently far ahead of any other AI model in cyber capabilities” - [image…

Mythos is a new tier, bigger than Opus, and more capable.  It will be beyond the current state of the art by a wide margin, a dramatic jump in intelligence.  Things have been accelerating under the surface since December.  Capabilities are increasing faster, the time between mode…

I know these are all unreliable leaks of internal code names but please, please AI labs, the only thing worse than calling your models GPT-5.5-xhigh-Codex-nano is giving them names like Agent Smith or Mythos, for obvious reasons. [image]

CLAUDE MYTHOS 👀 A CMS misconfiguration at Anthropic just leaked draft blog posts about “Claude Mythos”. Anthropic confirmed it's real, calling it “the most capable we've built to date.” Mythos is a new, fourth tier, larger and more expensive than Opus. The draft claims

Drop what you're doing and read this post Anthropic is about to release the most powerful AI model ever created. Claude Mythos It's so powerful they consider it a danger to cybersecurity everywhere It will also be significantly more expensive than Opus I don't know your

@_simonsmith This new tier of models will be extremely compute-intensive, and - if they work as expected - will be snapped up by enterprises like hotcakes. We may become seriously compute-bottlenecked once this new paradigm takes off - especially as enterprises ALSO start deployi…

So apparently Anthropic left 3,000 internal docs in a public data lake and security researchers found them. The docs reportedly describe a new model called claude mythos that sits above opus in a new tier called capybara. Their own draft allegedly says it's “far ahead of any

I think we're going to see a new class of models that are extremely expensive to run and focused on breakthrough applications in STEM. So we'll have fast models, slower reasoning models, parallel reasoning models like GPT Pro series, and then some new level typically reserved for

over the past 2-3 days, we've seen two important leaks: openai has finished training a new model, codenamed “spud”, which they believe could greatly boost the economy anthropic testing a new model, codenamed “mythos”, and says it is the strongest model it has built yet

this Anthropic leak is definitely Claude 5 and it's so good that it's a major security risk and can't be publicly released: Dario and sam both said we see AGI sometime this year. this might be it: -major leap in coding, reasoning (destroys opus and sonnet) - heavily restricted [i…

It seems like both OpenAI and Anthropic have “step change” models waiting in the wings. Exciting times. Considering that Claude is already writing >90% of the code for the next Claude, it seems like this is the generation where full RSI takes off. Consider the “we already

Another Claude 5 update: Anthropic's upcoming Model “Mythos” will have its own Tier *above* Opus, called “Capybara” This means that in addition to Haikiu, Sonnet, and Opus, there will also be “Capybara,” which is even more compute-intensive but also delivers significantly better …

@M1Astra I think there is a chance Capybara isnt the codename you can see in github this was used for opus 4.6 as the code name is capybara aswell. Do you think anthropic would use the same codename as opus for their top model? [image]

if anthropic's next model is really named capybara you know it's the singularity. if a model sounds like a call of duty killstreak you know it's nothing. if it sounds like a children's bookstore, you're already working for it

some thoughts on claude mythos 1) claude mythos is expected to be a model tier above opus, both more expensive and with greater capabilities 2) the model is supposedly going to be rolled out to a small number of early customers with a focus on cybersecurity 3) the model is

I think the new Mythos class of model from Anthropic, Spud from OpenAI (and maybe their shutdown of Sora to redirect compute) means we're not done with the bitter lesson just yet.  Larger models continue to provide step changes in capability.

it's a “series of models”  —  an entire new series that's far stronger than even Opus 4.6, also much more expensive  —  seems like you'd use it like a CEO — delegate heavily to subagents.  Maybe this is where agent organizations are truly born [embedded post]

The part I like least about this is knowing there are invitation-only clients who get to see what's coming before anyone else.  Which, of course, is always true, of everything, but it feels like insider trading for an accurate sense of reality.  —  fortune.com/2026/03/26/a...
