guess who got laid off today! 🫠 i am genuinely so confused and bewildered like, i spent the past week debugging the rivalry system while recovering from pneumonia and just in the past few days i've had multiple directors tell me how much they appreciate everything i do

Sadly I was impacted by todays layoffs at Epic. Still processing as I just found out like 20 minutes ago. Probably going to jump straight into the job hunt... if anybody has any leads for Environment Art roles I would greatly appreciate it.

Epic games and Fortnite is going to completely die off when GTA 6 drops. You can say I'm a hater but every day they're striving into a shittier direction and losing the core community of what made Fortnite special to begin with Stop trying to be a new Roblox. It's Sad

Nearly 2,000 layoffs in less than 3 years and not a single person from the leadership team has been affected or voluntarily stepped out. These outcomes are their failure and their failure alone.

I was impacted by today's layoffs at Epic. Truly came out of nowhere for me. Right before my birthday, too. I really liked Epic. Really liked the teams. Really liked what we were doing in music. So it's all a shock. Time to breathe for a minute. Then onward and upward.

At some point you have to argue that maybe spending hundreds of millions on a store that no one uses and giving 40% of your entire revenue to UGC map makers every month might actually not be smart

Epic Games is giving laid-off staff at least four months of severance, which is significantly above average for a US company.  During normal times, that'd be a healthy cushion.  But in this climate for the video-game industry it can take *at least* a year for someone to find full…
