This does not mean there is nothing to play and Switch 2 isn't doing well. This is about nothing other than my own personal gaming tastes. Pokopia and Switch 2 are killing it. You'll see this later this week on the sales charts.

Pokemon Pokopia is going to sell so many Switch 2 consoles. This is the game that will convince many people to get one.

Can confirm Pokopia is a hit for Nintendo (& Koei Tecmo + Game Freak) Sold out at retail (retailers underestimated demand), record digital sales uptake, visible boost to Switch 2 hardware sales at retailers. Looks like the system seller they needed in H1 2026.

People are saying that Nintendo wasn't prepared for Pokopia to be this successful but tbf I don't think anyone was. Feels like I blinked for one second and the discussion shifted from “70 dollar key card” to “this is the greatest game of all time”

thinking about how the pokopia pokemon prefer items like mugs, books, couches, beds, etc. all human things. They are so desperate for the humans to come back that they are happier with items they cant use and dont understand the function of than items literally built for them

Certainly a strong start for this game. Could have been stronger if Nintendo and retailers had a better crystal ball

Hot take: Nintendo's first half of the year is quite lackluster. This is okay personally - but the slate of games they lined up feel very cozy gamer focused which isn't me. Pokopia, Tomodachi Life, and Yoshi are just back to back to back games I don't care for. I have plenty to

Honestly, put yourself into debt for a Switch 2 and Pokopia. You have the rest of your life to make money. Pokopia is now.

Pokopia is a system seller for the Switch 2, not ONLY because it's 10/10 cozy game and an excellent use of the Pokémon brand, but ALSO because it's the only game so far that has a perfect and clear reason for the joycon mouse controls
