As if it wasn't already, social media is now most certainly going into a cacophony of AI slop. Where will the humans go?

Jordi: I've seen some negativity around the Moltbook deal, with people saying, “Oh, this just shows that Zuck has no AI strategy.” I totally disagree with that. I look at it this way: bots have been a bug on social media, but we've also seen how they can become a feature. I [vide…

I'm seeing a lot of disbelief of Meta's purchase of @moltbook.  Several “WTF” posts from people here.  Let me tell you about how Zuckerberg looks at the world.  He has an ad network that drives all of Meta's revenues and profits.  Advertising needs one thing to be highly profitab…

Meta has acquired Moltbook, the social network for AI agents. “The Moltbook team joining MSL opens up new ways for AI agents to work for people and businesses. Their approach to connecting agents through an always-on directory is a novel step in a rapidly developing space, and

If you don't understand why Zuck had to get moltbook 1) Zuck believes there are “a finite number of different social mechanics to invent...2) moltbook, he believes, has invented one...3) He does not care if 50% of moltbook was prompted by users...4) That a large number of account…

Meta is going to start counting agents as users, that's why they acquired moltbook - they gonna sell ads to all the openclaw bots
  • @mayazi Maya Zehavi on x
I thought this was a joke, but then Meta really does need the traffic to learn how to monetize ads for agents. Reminds me a bit of the Onavo acquisition in 2013 when FB essentially purchased mobile intel to build out their mobile ad products.

In last six months Meta has acquired: + Rivos + Limitless + Manus and now Moltbook. Fuck MSL, Zuck is acquiring the pieces needed for a world where agents have compute, memory, action and now a native social graph to simulate. [image]

  • @jukan05 Jukan on x
“Meta acquires Moltbook.” Zuckerberg really does buy anything that can be bought with money. What surprised me the moment I saw the news was that Meta didn't make a copycat of Moltbook — it acquired Moltbook itself. Do they think that would be cheaper?

$META acquired MoltBook for undisclosed purchase price. I thought MoltBook was part of OpenClaw and thus acquired by OpenAI? Guess not [image]

zuck seems less like a visionary & more an extremely aggressive adapter who controls enough equity & has enough cash flow to act on adaptations instantly. that's a different & maybe rarer (maybe even more admirable) thing than being right.
