Last day at xAI. xAI's mission is push humanity up the Kardashev tech tree.  Grateful to have helped cofound at the start...So proud of what the xAI team has done and will continue to stay close as a friend of the team...It's time to recalibrate my gradient on the big picture.  2…

I left xAI. Building something new with others that left xAI. We're hiring :)
  • @rschmied Rob Schmied on x
SpaceX investors wondering why they took 20% dilution for cash-flow negative Xai while most of Xai core team quit because they are wondering why they now have 80% of their prior equity upside linked to exploding rockets. I think that is the summary, perhaps something deeper.

Jimmy Ba is the second cofounder at xAI to announce he was leaving in less than 48 hours. He's also the fifth to leave in the last year. Up until late last year when his responsibilities were split between two other cofounders, Ba oversaw a large portion of the company.

Most, if not all, of the folks I knew that were part of the founding team or early hires at xAI have left. I am glad they were as impactful as they were in a short period, and grew as much as they did. I am more glad that they can now focus on pursuits that more produce positive

Wow! I haven't been tracking XAi departures. Perhaps I should. So many fleeing the stench of moronicity and paedophilia across all of Pedolf's companies!

Been farming tweet searches, and looks like AT LEAST ELEVEN people walked away from XAI/Grok today alone. What the fuck did SpaceX actually get in this acquisition - because it sure as hell wasn't Human Resources! [image]

i'm quitting XAI. it was a good run. i'm going to be starting something new, which creates something good in the world (autonomous killer drones)

Everyone is leaving xAI. It's not just cofounders, it's tons of people. Is this about SpaceX being a strategic aerospace company with natsec implications? Many are Chinese after all. But no... many aren't. Enraging that they're all just spewing this boilerplate. [image]

I resigned from xAI today.  This company - and the family we became - will stay with me forever.  I will deeply miss the people, the warrooms, and all those battles we have fought together.  It's time for my next chapter.  It is an era with full possibilities: a small team armed …

I left xAI a few weeks ago. That was short! IMO, all AI labs are building the exact same thing, and it's boring. I think there's room for more creativity. So, I'm starting something new.

Tony Wu is the fourth cofounder to leave xAI in the past year. He led the reasoning org and began reporting to Elon Musk last year. XAI underwent a reorg a few weeks ago and cofounder Guodong Zhang took over some of Wu's responsibilities, insiders said.

xAI co-founder left xAI. I believe this makes it the 4th co-founder to leave. Also Greg Yang is sick. Still wish xAI can build top models.
  • @teortaxestex @teortaxestex on x
Many people are leaving labs with tons of resources (while legends from pre-AI software are joining the labs). What is most remarkable to me is that the first group seems confident they'll build new companies outside. Anthropic folks are skeptical about that.
  • @aiandcloudtech @aiandcloudtech on x
Anthropic is still the only AI company that has managed to retain 100% of their cofounders.

Guys, not everyone who posted about leaving xAI today left xAI *today* I even see people posting that “all 20 co-founders” just left. You understand, this would mean Elon left too? This is just engagement bait. 2 co-founders left in the last two days. And they are awesome, so

$20 million per month is not enough to get xAI co-founder to stay - based on early xAI rumors of 1% equity offer - and SpaceX merger pricing post all estimated dilution - Tony is worth $650 million + $20/month

i am quitting xAI today. the team is awesome. elon is awesome. but they don't serve the best food. food is important. the company that serves good food has the best chance at agi. so i am starting a foundational food company and am announcing my partnership with xai.

People are most likely leaving xAI because they rolled their shares into SpaceX shares which is about to IPO at a quadrillion dollars and they're about to get giga paid. There's no incentive for them to stick around or work. They'll just sit back and watch the singularity.
