Introducing Cowork: Claude Code for the rest of your work. Cowork lets you complete non-technical tasks much like how developers use Claude Code. [video]
  • @altryne Alex Volkov on x
@bcherny How much of it did Claude Code write? https://x.com/...
  • @bcherny Boris Cherny on x
    @altryne All of it
  • @claudeai Claude on x
Once you've set a task, Claude makes a plan and steadily completes it, looping you in along the way. Claude will ask before taking any significant actions so you can course-correct as needed.
  • @nikunj Nikunj Kothari on x
Holy cow.. this is SO good. Anthropic is wildly undervalued 😅
  • @kepano @kepano on x
English is now a programming language. You can write programs just by writing plainly in Obsidian, and run your program using Claude Code (or equivalent tools). Everything you previously wrote in Markdown files can be directly actionable by executing those now programs.
  • @promptllm @promptllm on x
Anthropic will just be the entire economy at this point.
  • @claudeai Claude on x
In Cowork, you give Claude access to a folder on your computer. Claude can then read, edit, or create files in that folder. Try it to create a spreadsheet from a pile of screenshots, or produce a first draft from scattered notes. [video]
  • @chatgpt21 Chris on x
BREAKING 🚨 Anthropic just unveiled “Cowork,” a major feature that turns Claude into a fully autonomous virtual assistant for everyone. It brings the deep agentic capabilities previously reserved for coders to general users, allowing Claude to perform complex tasks directly on [vi…
  • @skirano Pietro Schirano on x
Anthropic Cowork is the first step toward what a true LLM OS might look like.
  • @astrange Angela Strange on x
Finally!! Claude Code has long been great at so much more than code. But most potential users just didn't know it👇 The Claude team could go even further e.g., : -Claude for Sales -Claude for Marketing -Claude for HR etc. No product changes required. Just 10-20 well
  • @patrickmoorhead Patrick Moorhead on x
Claude Cowork position is clearly going after the developer productivity tasks. Because if you're not a developer, you will likely think it'll be too hard as developers use it. I'm not saying it's complex for normies but it's positioned like that.
  • @deryatr_ Derya Unutmaz on x
Claude really cooked it! This cowork for Claude Code will open up massive agentic use cases or make them super user-friendly! Claude removed the friction for non-technical users! Very nice!
  • @blakeir Blake Robbins on x
According to Anthropic employee, @felixrieseberg, they built Cowork in the past 1.5 weeks... via @danshipper's livestream [video]
  • @austen Austen Allred on x
I'm a little confused at the hype around this. Isn't this... exactly what Claude does already? And has done for a long time? Is this just marketing to let nontechnical people know they can use it too? I must be missing something.
  • @mweinbach Max Weinbach on x
I was watching mactop with Claude Cowork, and as you might expect, super light on local utilization. The majority of utilization is just rendering the Claude app! All models and inference is cloud, all your files are local. This isn't hybrid, AI it's just straight up cloud AI [im…
  • @benbajarin Ben Bajarin on x
Claude Cowork just organized my downloads folder, which was basically my folder for everything, and it is basically black magic.
  • @benhylak Ben on x
anthropic is constantly pushing the frontiers of giving an LLM root access to your computer

Claude code for all other knowledge work. Many of our best engineers no longer manually write code, they multiplex across multiple cc sessions - soon this will be true for everything else
  • @_arohan_ Rohan Anil on x
Claude will be running my life at this point. This is very cool!
  • @kimmonismus @kimmonismus on x
General agents are on their way. And Anthropic is at the forefront
  • @yuchenj_uw Yuchen Jin on x
Anthropic's ambition isn't just coding. It's general agent. I've said this before: they're building Jarvis in Iron Man. Claude isn't good at multimodality yet. Once it can see what you see and hear what you hear, it becomes dramatically more useful. AI will not replace you. A

Cowork is available as a research preview for Claude Max subscribers in the macOS app. Click on “Cowork” in the sidebar: https://claude.com/... If you're on another plan, join the waitlist for future access here: https://forms.gle/...
  • @primordialaa Bryan Pellegrino on x
Have literally built this out myself over the past ~week (with inspiration from @badams78). Progress is insane, hack any tool you need, leverage it, then let them give you a production version. What a world :)
  • @thogge Tyler Hogge on x
it seems increasingly likely that Claude will own the enterprise, and ChatGPT will own consumer. today is a microcosm of that trend: chat acquires torch (consumer), and claude launches this.
  • @danshipper Dan Shipper on x
BREAKING NEWS! @AnthropicAI drops Claude Cowork—it's Claude Code for non-technical people - Built for long-running tasks run on your computer - No terminal required, start right from the Claude app as a new tab - Access to all of your computer's context, can drive a browser, [ima…

once again ive underestimated that buttons are very important claude desktop mcp and claude code can both do this. now i have 3 agents in 1 screen >:)

We launched Cowork today in research preview. We've heard time and time again that people wanted the power of Claude Code but in a much more approachable form. This is it. [video]
  • @exm7777 Machina on x
since the release of Sonnet 3.7, Anthropic is the ONLY company that seems to understand how to leverage models horsepower... they mastered the art of building features designed for performance, not just “looking promising” but drastically transforming how we use AI daily i love
  • @dejavucoder Sankalp on x
initially i thought it's computer use but looks like it's claude code shaped with more UI/UX focused towards non technical people, especially those who may find terminal intimidating. clever play here. this was low hanging fruit given recent hype. https://x.com/...
  • @signulll @signulll on x
this is genuinely good. like quietly devastating good. how did anthropic beat chatgpt to this?
  • @emollick Ethan Mollick on x
Note this doesn't yet have all the useful features of Claude Code, not does it have a fully differentiated non-technical UX yet. But it is a sign of how quickly Anthropic is iterating on what seems to be a growing consensus on how individual agents for teal work will operate.
  • @gregisenberg Greg Isenberg on x
Send this to every normal person you know because normal people don't want to touch a terminal and this will make them 100x more powerful and productive at whatever is they do
  • @thezvi Zvi Mowshowitz on x
    So it's Claude Code.
  • @nearcyan Near on x
your startup built with claude was just killed by claude
  • @omooretweets Olivia Moore on x
Watershed moment for Claude / Anthropic... Claude has always been a fantastic product (with arguably the best agentic models), but has struggled to make these advantages “usable” for the mainstream consumer. This feels like the first concentrated effort to change that.
  • @tenobrus @tenobrus on x
i got my mom and girlfriend send up with claude code desktop over the winter break btw. my mom's been using it to do compounding research for her novel, gf's been using it to manage job applications. it actually works for them, and this will actually just work for normal people.
  • @jerryjliu0 Jerry Liu on x
turns out the first “real” instance of computer use is just claude code + CLI + code interp + filesystem now packaged in a nice GUI

Claude Cowork is one of the smartest AI tool roll-outs I've seen to date. Anthropic says. 'Hmmm, Claude Code is getting a lot of pickup and there's a bunch of people using it for non-coding uses...' And then makes the product. This is AI lock-in for the entire office. [image]
  • @mert @mert on x
ok this is SICK once you download this, you can finally have opus 4.5 get native OP browser capabilities without interfering with your actual browsing just tested it out. this kills cursor for me claude is cooking [image]

Cowork is Claude Code packaged as a general agent for any task on your computer there's so much more to do here, would absolutely love y'alls feedback on it
  • @lydiahallie Lydia Hallie on x
Claude Cowork is also super useful for editing files You can just describe what file you're looking for (e.g. “a video with a squirrel") and run ffmpeg based on simple instructions, even if you don't have any experience with editing/converting files [video]

it's basically what I expected. the ui is normal claude, but instead of showing you the bash commands it is executing, it just says “using bash” or “command” (you can click for detail of course). very useful for many I'm sure! not sure if useful for me over cc; still learning.
  • @_arohan_ Rohan Anil on x
I am amazed. Just tested it out for studying a machine learning topic. It feels like Jarvis.
  • @bcherny Boris Cherny on x
Since we launched Claude Code, we saw people using it for all sorts of non-coding work: doing vacation research, building slide decks, cleaning up your email, cancelling subscriptions, recovering wedding photos from a hard drive, monitoring plant growth, controlling your oven.

finally they came for everybody else's jobs, phew

holy shit Anthropic built “Cowork” in the last... week and a half?! Confirmed by Anthropic employee @felixrieseberg on @danshipper's live stream I wonder how much of this was Claude Code [video]

  • @danshipper Dan Shipper on x
Claude Cowork isn't chat—it's async AI for the rest of us. Ask your computer to do something. Walk away. Come back to results. Claude Code users know this feeling. Now non-technical folks get it too. [video]

I was very excited to try Cowork - I thought this would be a big moment for non-devs to start adopting Claude. But, it's kinda underwhelming? Claude in Chrome is cool, but I just sort of opened Cowork and found myself unsure what I would actually use this for
