As I said, Exynos2100 is just the beginning. It is almost certain that Samsung will release a new processor with AMD GPU this year and may use it for the Galaxy Z Fold3. https://twitter.com/...

@RDRv3 one ofthe things that Qualcomm does that other OEMs don't is that it takes advantage of the architecture license it has and augments the memory subsystem to their advantage, not quite to Apple levels, but moreso than any other stock ARM licensee

I'm also not saying it's impossible for the Exynos team to innovate in interesting ways. They certainly could. But everything we know to date is that it builds also-ran commodity products. Scant evidence Samsung has anything up its sleeve to legitimately challenge Qualcomm.

I wonder if this could be Exynos for Windows ARM. It would make sense with an AMD GPU in a Windows machine and throwing Samsung's newfound ARM power into Windows could bring them back into PCs and against Apple there. AMD GPU could only help there. https://twitter.com/...

I really wish ARM would make a successor to the A55, even for a low power design sticking to an in-order core seems unambitious. Competitors have produced rival designs with much more performance, such as Apple's Icestorm, and even Intel's Tremont. https://twitter.com/...

Today @SamsungExynos announced the new Exynos 2100 - the company's new 5nm flagship SoC for 2021. The new design is an important step for SLSI as it moves from custom cores to the new Cortex-X1 CPU. Read about the improvements across the whole of the SoC: https://www.anandtech.co…

as long as Qualcomm continues aggressively investing in a strong heterogeneous chip architecture, Exynos will always be playing catch-up. Every year for the past 5 is the year Exynos “catches up” with Qualcomm. https://twitter.com/...
