@PatrickMoorhead @Qualcomm @nuvia_inc That's my fear. GW3/John/Manu wanted to make server CPUs, not smartphone CPUs, that's why NUVIA exists. How long before they up and leave? Perhaps a minimum 24 months is tied into the sale etc
It also dawned upon me that if Qualcomm treats Nuvia CPUs the same they do Adreno GPUs, we'll never actually get to hear any technical or architectural details about them.

3/ Apple has done significant custom core work over the past decade that is showing up in its performance with the M1 chip in Macs but will really become obvious when its next round of chips hit this year.
