Google Chrome now lets all desktop users right-click an image and perform a Lens search to translate text, identify an object, get the original source, and more

Google had already moved Lens beyond phones through web-based Google Photos text copying and was preparing a Chrome desktop shopping use case for images and video. Making Lens available from an image’s context menu turns that capability into a default browser action rather than a destination users must seek out.

The move also precedes Lens becoming available from Google’s homepage and Chrome later receiving broader AI and Lens support, extending visual search across Google’s principal desktop surfaces.
