Google expands Lens beyond mobile by rolling it out inside Google Photos for the web, allowing desktop users to copy text from images using OCR

Google had already placed Lens in Google Photos on iOS and extended Photos’ OCR from image recognition to searching text inside saved images. It subsequently added mobile Lens actions such as copying handwritten text to Chrome.

The web rollout carries that established OCR workflow to the desktop interface, making Google Photos a place to extract text as well as locate it.
