  And reminder, @intel and others will sell out their own country and employees unless the government is smart enough to stop it. Capitalism is great, but we have to recognize the flaws. Companies will always sell out to fascist dictatorships if they think they will make some money…

  In the ‘skinny’ bill put forward, everything from both sides will be dropped. Ostensibly. Except that Schumer will put some language in it calling for the U.S. to negotiate digital trade agreements, which is what big tech wants.

  So Chuck Schumer is going to put a semiconductor subsidy bill on the floor tomorrow, but remove most controversial pieces from it. Except, the rumor is, he is going to be put a little gift to big tech in there, because he can't help himself.🧵

  This language won't matter as much as the earlier provisions, but it's still a problem that Schumer - when no one is looking - just continues to help big tech monopolies wherever and however he can. I hope I'm wrong. We'll see tomorrow.

  So on the semiconductor bill, originally the Senate had a nasty provision to help big tech circumvent anti-monopoly rules. But the House had a bunch of anti-big tech provisions in their version. https://prospect.org/... https://twitter.com/...

  Umm, No. Fabless companies shouldn't get subsidies just because fab companies do. The business models are fundamentally different. Keep the FABS Act clean and address this separately if Congress wants. Get CHIPS and FABS passed. ASAP https://www.reuters.com/...
