The problem is now, and sorta has been since launch: Quest 3 is still on the horizon (less than 7 months). Which will have a drastically better chipset and you can change the head-strap out... unlike this unibody horror for my head https://twitter.com/...

@UploadVR imho, Pro is supposed to be a test product they crammed all new tech into to hone in all hw and sw for the Quest 3 and beyond. Meta is willing to lose lot of money on this. Sucks for all the beta testers that bought it for 1500$. But hey, we got all the cool tech early …

So even if you the Quest 3 is 500 dollars and you want the Touch Pro controllers, that 500+300 bundle is still better than this? But I guess if you REALLY need eye and face tracking for the tiny amount of apps that support it: I get it

I got the Quest Pro at the bad price, and as a PC VR headset I love it. As a standalone... not so much. And as mixed reality headset it sucks. Hope sales pick up a bit, and that Meta remember PCVR exists. https://twitter.com/...

@thefronktweets I haven't tried an app like that in the headset. I've heard people complaint the strap design makes it harder for active titles

@SadlyItsBradley I only play VRChat and Pokerstars VR (which I think both support face tracking) so I will be happy to take this off your hands. 😏

Price drop on 3/5 for two Meta Quest headsets! Quest Pro will be ~$999 and the Quest 2 256GB is now ~$429 (the 128GB is still ~$399). We always want to ship devices at a price that makes it easier for people to get into and build for VR. https://www.meta.com/... 1/

@UploadVR Just think how much it'll be cut down in 6 months when Quest 3 shows it's wee face The Quest Pro just seems such an oddly timed overpriced little bit of madness

    PSVR2 effect? https://twitter.com/...

It's moments like these where I'm happy I don't rush to recommend every HMD that comes out In my review, I said it was way too expensive for what you get. So if people heeded my warning and waited, they now can make a better decision than feel screwed by Meta and the reviewer

For those not very familiar with retail, Meta is likely doing price elasticity testing at scale. Selling a few more QPro is not that important but having the data on consumer purchases pattern for a new category of devices will be extremely valuable in the longer run. https://twi…

@SadlyItsBradley They are getting ready for Quest 3. So many features in Pro will make their way into 3, it will call into question buying Pro, at all. So, make the sales for the next 6 months knowing sales will fall off completely with the announcement of 3.

@SadlyItsBradley And yet again Meta prices is wildly unfairly for Canadians... Some people tried to defend them before by saying “oh the shipping and tax is included in that price”, but now it's even worse than before. The tax and shipping for it can't even come close to $600+. h…

Quest Pro Price Cut To $1000 Just 4 Months After Launch. Permanently. https://twitter.com/...

@SadlyItsBradley @SadlyItsBradley I only care about TOTF. Work out in it daily. Worth it for that?

Unless Face Tracking really matters to you or you're a developer wanting to get an early start in Mixed Reality, I still recommend waiting for Quest 3 instead. https://twitter.com/...

Who the hell would buy the Quest Pro over a Valve Index? https://twitter.com/...

@UploadVR when will Meta and all these other HMD manufacturers understand that we are not at the point of enterprise level AR/VR. We have boomers who can't even use Zoom, and zoomers who stumble using anything outside of iOS. the cash cow right now is in quality GAMES. focus budg…

Wait for Quest 3. Or wait it out for the possibly lower-cost Quest 3 follow-up but right now it's between cycles for Quest hardware even though Quest 2 still the best overall headset right now https://www.cnet.com/...
