  i will say meta's new RayBans are more compelling to me than the first generation ones — the tech is better and i could see both cool (and worrisome) uses for the livestreaming thing and for 300 bucks it's not insane or out of the realm of mid-to-high end sunglasses

  The new Ray-Bans start selling on Oct 17th for $299. I don't think they will sell many of them because there is not enough utility. The killer features is livestream Instagram, which is not worth $299.

  What I would kill for is always-on video recording glasses that let me hit a button and save the last 10 seconds of what I've seen. Imagine your kid doing something cute and just being able to save it forever, without having to get a camera out in advance.
