Not surprised by this. Particularly if it means that ASML will sell many more DUV machines to the US, in part to offset the market it loses in China. (A certain new plant in Arizona also comes to mind) https://twitter.com/...

So after all the public pushback, Bloomberg now reports that the Netherlands is ready to ban the export of some chip making equipment to China, to come in line with US curbs... https://www.bloomberg.com/...

New export limits could bar the sale of equip capable of making chips designated as 14 nm or smaller. But ASML machines sold to China already enable production of smaller chips, and SMIC is producing 7nm chips. https://www.bloomberg.com/...

Dutch officials are planning new controls on exports of chipmaking equipment to China, potentially aligning their trade rules with US efforts to restrict Beijing's access to high-end technology. Color me sceptical.. https://www.bloomberg.com/...

News: The Biden administration looks poised to get the Netherlands on board with export controls. An agreement on the Dutch curbs could come as soon as January, though negotiations are ongoing. Would be a big win for the WH and prove allies are aligned. https://www.bloomberg.com/…
