@ruudii2 The biggest issue and my biggest regret is that it became a company.

@Jack wondering what was your intent on Twitter and has it turned out the way you wanted? It feels a bit skewed leftward right now. How do we straighten it? It seems an inordinate amount of rightward leaning Twitter users are being banned or kicked off. It can't be good for MDAU

@jack @ruudii2 In what form did you wish Twitter to become? I thought about this sometimes. But if Twitter was funded/run by state, it might give the state more leverage to exert control If Twitter was a NGO, how would Twitter's scale today be financially feasible

A Decentralized Social protocol... What should we call it? Maybe... bear with me... DeSo? :D https://twitter.com/...

In a slightly different universe, twitter would have been a protocol https://twitter.com/...

I'm honesty so here for the Twitter as open protocol alt history. I'd be living that lux tweetdeck/tweetbot life. https://twitter.com/...

I love the idea of Twitter as a protocol like email instead of a company like Google, but I doubt it would have taken off. So many attempts: DSNP, XMPP, RSSN. I do love the idealists who keep trying. https://twitter.com/...

@CubicleApril ... Of course there is. Bitcoin has proven otherwise. As has http, smtp, html, etc.

@wongmjane @ruudii2 A protocol. Def can't be owned by a state, or company. Becomes clearer every day.

The company should never have been publicly listed if you ask me. And it should have subscription tiers as well. Look at what Telegram is doing now, for instance. Jack did not treat Twitter as a for-profit business. I'd be totally happy to pay for a fkn edit button! Take my money…

This is neatly captures the problem. A company would be likely to appeal to both sides in search of a wider user base. The problem is that Twitter may be structured like a company but it thinks and behaves like a group of student activists. https://twitter.com/...

.@Jack does not regret being the most powerful censor in the history of mankind. @Jack, a billionaire, is never going to rectify his “biggest regret,” of course. He aims to keep his money *and* his progressive credibility by virtue-signaling a vague attack on capitalism. https://…

you can find all 3 here. win for twitter on all three, notwithstanding some minor concessions to musk re producing some additional items. https://courts.delaware.gov/ ...

When this all began, some Muskites argued that the lawsuit would open the floodgates on internal Twitter info. They were wrong. https://twitter.com/...

Judge to @elonmusk on his demand for trillions of data points from Twitter: “no one in their right mind has ever tried to undertake such an effort.” https://www.reuters.com/...

Employee attrition at Twitter is 18.3%, executives told staff during a company-wide meeting, audio of which was heard by Reuters. Before Musk made his offer to buy the company, attrition hovered between 14% and 16%, consistent with competitors $TWTR https://www.reuters.com/...
  • @lizzadwoskin Elizabeth Dwoskin on x
One of TWTR's main arguments against Musk right now is that Musk's team is asking for private user data to assess bots. Phone #'s and geolocation. Twitter says doing so is largely illegal and also why would the give data to someone who openly says he wants to start a competitor.
