Nothing announces its phone (1), starting at £399 with LED strips on the back, two 50MP rear cameras including an ultrawide lens, in 40+ markets but not the US

cannot — live up to the hype it's gotten. It is not a threat to BBK/Xiaomi/Samsung/Apple. However, it might be interesting enough to sell in moderate volumes and create future opportunities. https://twitter.com/... Tom Warren / @tomwarren : £399 is a good price for a new smartphone, even if it doesn't have true flagship specs. Interested to see how Nothing does across Europe https://twitter.com/...

Honestly, the Nothing Phone 1 is a killer deal at that price. I would 100% buy it over the iPhone SE 3 even despite the chip performance difference. That glowing back definitely helps sell it. Sucks it's not available in the states. https://twitter.com/...

Greatest bar trick ever? Using @nothing Phone (1) to reverse wireless charge an iPhone 13 Pretty fun trick! https://twitter.com/...

Glyph Interface helps @Nothing device stand out from the crowd, but I'm sceptical it's radically differentiated enough. At £399, the price of entry level variant, is standout feature. Puts the Nothing Phone (1) in same segment as Apple's most affordable smartphone, the iPhone SE.…

Before you criticize the Phone (1) having ‘only’ two rear cameras, I have two words to say: iPhone 13. Hah, he just subtweeted OnePlus using pro photographers to do its demos. https://twitter.com/...

The Nothing (1) would actually be interesting if it came to U.S. carriers where the mid-tier competition is mostly limited to Apple iPhone SE, Google's Pixel a, and Samsung's Galaxy A, but it won't. Outside the U.S., it will face a LOT of stiff competition at that price.

1/2 At a glance, the Nothing Phone (1) bears a remarkable resemblance to the Apple iPhone given its familiar aluminium frame and similar camera array. It could almost be mistaken for an iPhone running the Android operating system. #Nothingevent https://twitter.com/...

@TechBushPro @techflowtime It's honestly really cool for the ringtone effect. Kind of like how you can enable the flash on iPhone to light up when you get a call or notification. Except now, it's customizable and a conversation starter.

So is this much ado about Nothing? Yes and no. The Nothing (1) does not — cannot — live up to the hype it's gotten. It is not a threat to BBK/Xiaomi/Samsung/Apple. However, it might be interesting enough to sell in moderate volumes and create future opportunities. https://twitter…
