A look at Plural, a €250M early-stage fund led by Wise co-founder Taavet Hinrikus, Teleport co-founder Sten Tamkivi, Songkick co-founder Ian Hogarth, and others

Until recently Taavet Hinrikus, cofounder of Wise, and Sten Tamkivi, cofounder of Teleport, had banded together as a sort of ‘mini Angel brand’ known as “Taavet+Sten”.

1/ When running @Bigpoint for any kind of operational guidance or perspective I had to turn to friends entrepreneurs as none of my investors had any kind of founder experience. It was such a game changer when @KeesKoolen & Rob Denton joined the board

6/ Very few attempts to build a new and scalable product in venture have succeeded but we think it's worth trying because if it works we could have GDP level impact on Europe and leave the European start-up ecosystem healthier than when we joined it https://techcrunch.com/...

1/ When I was building @Songkick, the most valuable investors I had were people who had built things themselves - Greg McAdoo, Paul Graham and Saul Klein had all been founders and CEOs. They helped me learn faster and were far more committed to helping us succeed

5/ This is why last year @seikatsu, @soundboy, @taavet & I have decided to build the product we wish we had when building. We're launching today @pluralplatform a €250m fund & investors with the scar tissue & reach to tilt the odds of success & quantum of impact for founders

1/When we started @TeleportInc with @keskkyla & @balajis back in 2014, we were at Sand Hill Road. Like physically. Not a metaphor. Eventually the team shifted towards Europe, but that round would not have happened here from scratch.

Interesting move, this @pluralplatform endeavour from @taavet, @soundboy, @KHelioui and @seikatsu Also interesting to see the Euro VC reactions to it :) https://tech.eu/...

‘Europe lacks founders turned investors. In Silicon Valley more than half the investors at top venture firms have built a company themselves. In Europe this figure is a pathetic 8%.’

Launching @PluralPlatform where experienced company builders come together to invest and build the future of Europe. The investor I wish I had when building @Wise... more below ... 1/

“We call experienced founders ‘unemployables,’ because once you've experienced the intense authorship that comes with creating something new it's hard to work for anyone again. We created Plural to give unemployables a place to call home” https://techcrunch.com/...

4/ Last year @KHelioui, @seikatsu, @Taavet and I spent time working through how we could build a better product for European founders. We're today launching @PluralPlatform with a €250M fund. It's people who have built companies investing in the future iconic companies of Europe
