Been hitting refresh all day waiting for Elon's take on the Buffalo shooter's manifesto and video being shared on Twitter. Nothing. Nada. Zip. Zilch.

Facebook finds that video of Buffalo massacre doesn't violate standards. I can confirm the video is still being shared and has over 1.8m views. It's graphic. https://twitter.com/...

Not going to share screenshots, but the rate at which versions of the Buffalo video continue to proliferate on Facebook and Twitter is astonishing. We've been here before with Christchurch and it continues to happen.

“Elon Musk has a chance to plant his flag in the ground: to commit to his vision of laissez-faire content moderation and accept the consequences or recognize that there are limits. Instead, the free speech advocate has become strangely mute.” 🎯 https://twitter.com/...

The Buffalo shooter was radicalized by the white supremacists on 4chan. But sure, let's take all content moderation off Twitter. What could possibly go wrong?

It's unfortunate @elonmusk isn't telling us whether Twitter's censorship of the Buffalo manifesto is an example of the kind of constitutionally protected speech that he doesn't think should be blocked. Not sure I have a strong view but it's clarifying to debate specifics.

“On May 14th, social media platforms found themselves scrambling to deal with a livestream video of a white supremacist terror attack. Yet the man who has been the nation's loudest commentator on content moderation had nothing to say. https://www.theverge.com/...

From the new Texas law to Elon Musk's proposed “free speech” version of Twitter, it's worth wondering how an incident like the Buffalo shooting would play out in the future on major US-based social platforms. https://twitter.com/...

It would have been a great time to reshare his take on how censorship is bad, free speech is good and only illegal content should ever be moderated. Obviously content moderation is so trivially easy, he can share how Twitter should be handling it now.

Still nothing from Elon on the Buffalo race massacre or how he'd want Twitter to handle the actual video or the spread of replacement theory on this platform.

“Would Elon Musk have ordered videos of the shooting to be removed? So far, he has given no answers because there is no answer that can satisfy both a common understanding of moral decency and his stated position on moderation and free speech.” https://twitter.com/...

Not a word on Elon's feed about Buffalo, ok, he doesn't have to comment, but do you think he understands the link between what happened and the killer's social media diet and how opening twitter to right wing crazies could lead to more racist incidents like that? https://twitter.…

Wonder if Elon Musk's idea of “free speech” would be to allow the Buffalo terrorist to have live streamed his attack on Twitter? We know Musk has no problem with white supremacists on Twitter
