CODA, an acronym meaning “child of deaf adults,” has been one of our top lookups all day, after Troy Kotsur won an Oscar for his role in a film of this name. #Oscars

I'm tremendously happy for the amazing cast & crew of CODA. And I know the whole Locke & Key fam is over the moon for @EmiliaJonesy, who is remarkable in everything she does.

Congratulations to CODA for making history at the Oscars last night. We are all so proud of the example you set about how to make an outstanding film that is truly inclusive. I am so grateful I'll have the privilege of working with @sianheder on the movie adaptation of my memoir

Almost every Oscar winner is on a streamer the day after the awards: Apple - CODA HBO - King, Dune, Tammy, Drive Netflix - Power Disney - Encanto, WSS, Cruella You have to pay but you can rent Bond and Belfast. I know part of this is the delayed show but still impressive.

I honestly thought Netflix would be the first streaming service with a Best Picture win. Very surprised it ended up being Apple TV Plus, but Coda is a really a very special and monumental film that deserves all of its accolades.

Apple beat Netflix to winning an Oscar for best film with CODA. That's huge.

netflix letting apple tv take “first streaming service to win best picture” from them is insane like how you blow that lead?!

It's wildly funny to me that Netflix spent YEARS trying to win Best Picture — Roma, The Irishman, Marriage Story, Mank, The Power of the Dog — and then Apple shows up out of nowhere, spends $25 million to buy CODA out of Sundance and walks away with the Oscar on its first try.

Also, credit to the Apple TV+ exec who bought CODA in as well as those who championed the film from the start at Sundance. Like in Ted Lasso and CODA, it's word of mouth that got them attention + Apple TV+ awards team. So many of Apple TV+ films/shows are under-promoted. https://…

Apple TV+ marks the first streaming service to win a Best Picture award. Apple TV+ debuted less than 2.5 years ago. It was picked up from Sundance (another win!) that will come to define Apple TV+ to a mainstream public — and Ted Lasso. Big wins beyond awards tonight for Apple.

Apple literally beat Amazon and Netflix to Oscars by buying a Sundance film at $25 mil and outspending them through the marketing run. What a run for Silicon Valley. A+ no notes.

Congrats to @MattDentler and the entire team at Apple on becoming the first streamer to win Best Picture. Well deserved! That was money well spent at Sundance. And by the way, CODA is the first @SundanceFest premiere to ever win Best Picture, so congrats to them as well!

Apple becomes the first streaming service to win Best Picture (for CODA) at the Oscars. Poor Netflix. So close yet so far.

I have failed in communicating my thoughts apparently. Netflix has spent hundreds of millions of dollars over the last handful of years trying to win a Best Picture Oscar. It's well documented. Apple showed up at Sundance, acquired Coda, and got there first. It's surprising.
