Google and Sonos had a long-running Assistant relationship before the dispute: Sonos delayed its planned integration before bringing Google Assistant to Sonos One and Beam in 2019. The ITC’s finding that Google infringed five Sonos audio patents turned that interoperability history into a product-design constraint.
