Many encounters were with well-meaning people, but incidents like stalking and general creepy behavior happened enough to make me think the harassment and ‘griefing’ problems that has been in gaming for years, are coming to social VR.

Social platforms like VRChat and Facebook's Horizon Venues didn't have clear rules about etiquette, such as respecting people's personal space, but rather general reminders to behave well. There were tools to mute and block others, so the onus is on you to protect yourself.

I spent a couple weeks mingling with strangers in the metaverse to see what socializing was like in Mark Zuckerberg's vision of the future. It was fun, but also quickly became creepy when others noticed I was female. Social VR has some challenges ahead. https://www.bloomberg.com/…
