According to a first reading of the Provisional Measure, contents such as mis/disinformation, bullying and spam are amongst the ones that cannot be moderated. The text clearly states that social media companies can only act against users content under a “justified cause”.
Just like that, Bolsonaro just announced he signed a provisional measure - with immediate effect - forbidding social media companies from removing profiles or content. Text is yet to be published but the timing of the decision hints that the PR. wants no intervention tomorrow. ht…
Despite the fact that the provisional measure does grant 30 days for companies to adjust to the new set of rules, the text will make their lives a little + complicated given that it requires a formal justification for moderation acts and subjects them to sanctions like suspensio
