  I will say for as much as the cries of anti conservative bias and Big Tech are a bit boy who cried wolf. The protection companies like Facebook have under the First Amendment are extraordinary. They can shut down the account of the President if they want (they did).

  Anyhow, politicians like to make noise about 230 because levying the threat of changing 230 against platforms is an effective way of influencing moderation policies, because actually writing laws that impose moderation policy runs into the hard reality of the First Amendment

  @FrankLuntz Statute is done for unless the 11th Circuit (or SCOTUS) reverses. When a judge finds the law clearly unconstitutional enough to grant a preliminary injunction, it's typically fatal.

  It really is incredible how the entire Florida state GOP rallied around a law that imposed speech regulations with glaring (and hilarious!) First Amendment issues and proudly passed it as some sort of victory for free speech.
