.@Google collects data, sells ad space & intermediates at almost all levels of the online display advertising supply chain. We are concerned that @Google has made it harder for rivals to compete in the #AdTech market. Today, we open an investigation More: https://ec.europa.eu/...

The European Union has opened a formal antitrust probe of Google's digital ad practices, looking into allegations the Alphabet unit violated EU rules. @jimcramer: People don't regard them as the enemy. @CNBC $GOOGL https://twitter.com/...

Google has been settling some other similar cases with regulators in the U.K. and France, which looked specifically at Google's ad tech tools. The EU is also looking at whether Google's ad exchange and ad buying tools give an unfair advantage to each other.

now comes the parade of thinly-veiled lobbying groups with names like “American Sunshine And Innovation Alliance,” interwoven with enough semi-credible voices to give them the faint air of legitimacy https://gizmodo.com/...

🇪🇺@EU_Commission opened #EUAntitrust investigation on whether Google distorts competition by restricting access by 3rd parties to user data for advertising purposes on websites & apps, reserving this for own online display advertising technology services https://ec.europa.eu/...

GDPR actually enhanced Googles position with ADtech as one of the few companies that both collects and uses data Slow handclap https://twitter.com/...

The EU antitrust enforcers have been at it for a decade, with zero impact on big tech. Everything @vestager does fails because she accepts these are innovative tech firms and need a light touch. She won't govern. https://twitter.com/...

EC investigating Google in the ad tech market. This happens shortly after a fine being imposed on Google by the French competition authority @Adlc_. A lot of action on the Old Continent. 1/3 https://twitter.com/...

We have opened an investigation into possible anticompetitive conduct by Google in the online advertising technology sector. It will examine whether Google is restricting access by third parties to user data for advertising purposes on websites and apps: https://europa.eu/!qJt7Hx…

Bam. And there it is. “Competition law and data protection laws must work hand in hand to ensure that display advertising markets operate on a level playing field in which all market participants protect user privacy in the same manner.” https://ec.europa.eu/...
