Sources: Facebook will announce a suite of audio products on Monday, including a Clubhouse-like app, a podcast discovery product connected to Spotify, and more

Announcements are coming on Monday, but some products won't show up for a while.  —  Facebook wants you to start talking, and listening, on Facebook.

Vox Peter Kafka

Context & Ripple Effects

Facebook’s reported audio suite was followed immediately by testing Live Audio Rooms in Groups, indicating an initial rollout tied to existing communities rather than a standalone destination. Later coverage shows the effort expanding from limited access for public figures and select Groups to an in-app Audio hub combining podcasts, live rooms, and short-form audio.

We're gonna kick things off with one hell of a ribbon-cutting. Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg will join me at 10AM PT for a live conversation. And it's gonna be newsy.

The problem with the cynical moves Amazon and Facebook have made is that none of us will voluntarily opt in to their ecosystem again, especially when we have audio ecosystems that work for us. https://twitter.com/...

@jason_kint Sure, FB needs to be checked. But what your tweet fails to mention is the impact to small and medium sized businesses who depend on FB to drive business. Eg. CCPA has a revenue threshold. This has no guardrails to assess damages done to innocent third parties.

Casey, if you're interviewing Zuckerberg and not asking about his false and misleading testimony, please ask 2 things: 1 - real FB surveillance impact from Apple's expected 14.5 rollout Tue 2 - admit non-public phone #s were released due to their 530mm breach Thx, more below... h…

Pro tip: if you own an iOS device, next week is likely to bring you the most significant improvement in digital privacy in the history of the internet. And it will kneecap Facebook. 🍿
