Apple Silicon Macs will run iOS apps but some developers, including Facebook, Google, and the developers of Candy Crush and Among Us, have already opted out

Apple will hold another special event tomorrow, and we expect to see the first Mac with Apple Silicon chips.

This is a good reminder to opt out of this crap, if you haven't already. https://twitter.com/...

All Google and Facebook iOS apps are reportedly opting out of working on Arm-based Macs. I'm sure it has everything to do with wanting a good UI XP and nothing to do with how much harder it is to re-target ads in an app than in a desktop browser. https://9to5mac.com/...

Major developers. God forbid I be able to run ⁦@YouTubeTV⁩ on my Mac with the iPad version instead of a crappy Chrome window. Might impede on Google's ad strategy. 🤬 https://9to5mac.com/...

This is SUCH a shame. Not sure why developers that don't already offer a Mac app would do this. Really pisses me off. https://twitter.com/...

Opt-out means the initial iOS apps will be a big pile of abandonware crap. https://twitter.com/...

    This should be opt-in, not opt-out. https://twitter.com/...

Another thing that annoys me about this is that Apple Silicon would instantly be more appealing to normal customers if every app was automatically made available on macOS. Faster and more efficient is cool for us nerds but regular people won't catch up for a few years. https://tw…

1 of 2—iOS apps will run on Apple Silicon Macs, but major developers have already opted out of the Mac App Store // This isn't a “yikes” it might appear to be. If you're an ISV focused on the browser then a device with a big screen, mouse, full browser... https://9to5mac.com/...

This is the biggest announcement in “computers” in a long time. It represents a step function/generational change. Early on people will focus on the “transition” which is fine, but the real impact is the direction this takes things. So many initiatives coming together. https://tw…

@jeffgolenski I'm guessing the MacBooks they announce tomorrow will bring back MagSafe.

I can't tell if this is the sun rising on Apple, or setting on Intel https://twitter.com/...

Apple Silicon Wishlist: HEIC images no longer take 3+ seconds to preview from Finder.

Due to a mishap, I've been missing the MagSafe charger for MacBooks. I did some digging & found a 3rd party adapter to turn USB-C into a MagSafe & it works perfectly. All the dongles spewed from Apple and they failed to create the one we've actually been asking for. https://twitt…

I know tomorrow's Apple Event will probably be focused on a laptop with Apple Silicon but I'm excited about the future possibility of a Mac Mini not much larger than the current Apple TV puck..
