What an evolution! In the 2000's, Sony was infamous for its proprietary MP3 player that didn't play .mp3 files, while Apple advanced digital music with iPod. Today, Sony is a multi-platform tech and content leader, while Apple drags iOS through an increasingly ugly lockdown.
