BTW everything @chriswelch says here is good and true about the Chromecast. It's not perfect (no Apple TV and occassionally laggy), but it's a better mix of remote/content/no ads/interface than other streaming boxes for me. I dig it. https://www.theverge.com/...

Hello Google TV! It's Android TV, which you probabaly forgot about, with a new name. And it's on a new Chromecast that comes with a remote and costs $50. This undercuts the price of Apple TV, but not Roku and Amazon FireTV, which have similar functions (and possibly more apps).

@ow The Apple TV app lets you search for Netflix shows it just doesn't let you add it to your watch list ... and at least in the demo video Google showed I didn't see a Netflix show in their queue either.

The Chromecast remote wrecks the Siri remote in a few key ways: 1) No touchpad. 2) Does not instantly want to live in between couch cushions. 3) Easy to tell which end is up. 4) No touchpad.

New Chromecast remote certainly looks better than Apple TV remote. Admittedly, it's the lowest bar in the history of low bars.
