Zuckerberg knocks rumored ‘Apple Glass’ tech. Says HUDs are like ‘putting an Apple Watch on your face’ https://www.theverge.com/...

Interesting here that Zuck is “optimistic” that 10m user base, total, will be reached in the “next few years.” So lifetime sales in single-digit millions, I guess. https://twitter.com/...

“So in the future, instead of a video chat, I'll just be sitting on my couch and your hologram can just appear on the couch next to me, or I can hologram into your house” https://www.theverge.com/...

As much as I loved working on the Rift HMDs, I can confidently say PC #VR on the @Oculus Quest 2 is shaping up to be something phenomenal and it is the future. https://twitter.com/...

The odds of me buying the next three versions of Oculus are much much higher than buying the next three iPhones or MacBooks.

Pricing the Quest 2 from $299 is a seismic move. Surely positions the device as a loss leader - shows just how strongly Facebook want to drive greater adoption of virtual reality and capture a larger share of the market. Extremely hard for rivals to match. #FBConnect https://twit…

You do not “need” a Oculus Quest 2 You do not “need” any accessories You do not “need” any haptics devices You do not “need” a slide I'll One headset has so much to offer by itself, pick the one you like the best and enjoy. There are no bad choices

Oculus Quest 2 is here! The first one was easily one of my favorite pieces of tech. New: Smaller headset design Redesigned controllers + improved haptic feedback Snapdragon XR2 chip, 6GB RAM 1832x1920 displays 50% more pixels per eye 90Hz support(!!!) $299 (64GB) $399 (256GB) htt…

Oculus Quest is amazing. Oculus Quest 2 looks to be even more amazing, and is coming out in October. Facebook somehow got really good at hardware. https://twitter.com/...

My Oculus Quest 2 Review: ✅Screen is noticeably better ✅ $300 price means lots more can try VR ✅ Lighter design = less 🤯 🛑 Still kinda big on your face 🛑 Facebook account required sucks 🛑 Controllers don't seem that much better https://twitter.com/...

More than 35 titles on Quest that generate “millions of dollar” in revenue. Over $150 million spent on Quest content.

FB is also announcing its new Oculus VR headset today, though that was mostly spoiled earlier this week by a slip-up on Facebook's website. I've been using it for the past couple weeks and it's pretty slick, though I still can't wear it for long without getting uncomfortable.

I checked out the new Oculus headset, the Quest 2. It solves my biggest problems with the Quest at launch, despite some nickel-and-diming on features. Should you get it? Depends how you feel about Facebook. https://www.theverge.com/...

Facebook is going to destroy Oculus. - Doubles down on Facebook profile requirements with stricter real name and app dev sideload requirements. - Rift S confirmed to be discontinued. Quest will be sole product. - Quest 2 is all around horrible. u g h https://arstechnica.com/...

I cannot emphasise this enough: Facebook has absolutely no support infrastructure for non-advertisers. Do not use any product or service they provide. https://twitter.com/...

If you're psyched about buying an Oculus Quest 2 at launch, don't read this review: “Attachment of a social media account and its massive Web of personally identifying data to hardware...is quite frankly an irresponsible move on Facebook's part.” https://arstechnica.com/...
  • @benbajarin Ben Bajarin on x
Original Quest was a great product so no doubt Quest 2 is solid. That being said, VR “may” cross 10% adoption sometime in 2023. The market momentum does have to start somewhere and it is starting with the Quest. https://twitter.com/...

Ars Technica's Oculus Quest 2 review is pretty damning. Not all the changes were good and the details of the FB account integration is lame. Gonna pass. https://arstechnica.com/...
  • @mcclure111 Mcc on x
Oof, this is alarming. I was assuming the Quest 2 would just be the Quest 1 with more powerful chips and better framerates, but here's a review suggesting the Quest 2 compares unfavorably to the Quest 1 due to changes to the basic physical headset itself. https://arstechnica.com/…

VR. is. not. accessible. Everything else aside about how dystopian this nonsense is - WFH is more inclusive to many disabled people, don't make big moves that will cut us out even more than physical office spaces already do. I beg. https://twitter.com/...

Tuned into Oculus Quest 2 event for 5 mins and it's all games about shooting other people w/ guns. Where's the “explore the world” and “hang w/ avatars in virtual spaces” stuff?
