Today, we're announcing some important updates to how people log into Oculus devices, while still keeping their VR profile. Starting in October 2020, everyone using an Oculus device for the first time will need to log in with a Facebook account. // https://www.oculus.com/...

Enjoy! Remember that @oculus is the only major HMD maker who tracks and stores your physical movement and other data on their servers. Privacy is you owning your data, not Facebook using your data to their end because their ends is.... https://twitter.com/...

Trusting Zuckerberg with your every behavior in VR/AR (on @oculus) is absurdly stupid after what he did with our data @facebook. Also, don't suggest trusting him with your money, health data, & your kids. https://twitter.com/...

This doesn't surprise me one bit, I've never had a piece of hardware that put me through more hell just installing drivers than the DK2. I'll be glad to switch: https://www.theverge.com/...

amazing how mad people are about this but they have no issue w the Apple's hardware + comms monopoly, Google owning all their data, or Amazon owning their omni-channel shopping and content consumption digital overlords gonna overlord https://twitter.com/...

Giving people a single way to log into Oculus—using their Facebook account and password— will make it easier to find, connect, and play with friends in VR. Visit https://www.oculus.com/... to learn more.

I was happy recommending the Rift S as a VR device for new VR users, but now that starting October new devices will REQUIRE a Facebook account? Yeah, I can't recommend that anymore. https://www.theverge.com/...

This was inevitable, and will inevitably be hated. I just want to know if Facebook will give me anything worthwhile in return. Can I read Facebook Messenger messages without taking off the headset now? https://twitter.com/...

I don't think anyone expected we'd end up anywhere else from the moment Facebook purchased Oculus. But, still... UGH.🤬 This wouldn't sting so badly if ANYONE ELSE had hardware that came close to matching the Quest in terms of versatility. https://twitter.com/...

Eh, fine by me. If @Facebook wants a bunch of Jack MeHoff accounts whose sole purpose in life is to play Oculus, what do I care? https://twitter.com/...
