Not a good day for TikTok. First, Secretary Pompeo suggested the US may ban TikTok. And now, Reuters reveals that TikTok is the subject of a federal probe related to an alleged violation of a 2019 agreement aimed at protecting children's privacy. https://www.reuters.com/...

Maybe Facebook boycotters should dig to see where the company violates children's privacy, as that seems to get regulators' eyes real quick. https://www.reuters.com/...

So how much of all of this over Tiktok is about Trump's Tulsa Party? https://twitter.com/...

.@tiktok_us is an extension of the Communist Chinese government and needs to be banned in America. The President and @SecPompeo will thoroughly and swiftly determine what's best. We cannot allow them to operate and be a conduit back to #China. #BanTikTok https://www.reuters.com/.…

Every American must understand the risk from apps including @tiktok_us that are used by the Chinese Gov't to spy on Americans. That's why I introduced a bill that would ban TikTok on US government phones. I'm glad @SecPompeo & the Administration are taking this threat seriously. …

I deleted TikTok because arbitrary code execution + custom LLVM + code that changes when you observe it is too much for me But god damn that app was good. Like good enough for me to know it was CCP spyware and keep it on my phone We really should clone and ban it

Mind you, the US doesn't actually have to ban TikTok like India. All it needs to do is to announce that it's thinking about it, and that will send many creators scrambling for alternatives... https://twitter.com/...

First India, then the US. This is the biggest existential threat for #TikTok right now - the perception that it's related to the Chinese government. It needs to quickly shed this perception if it hopes to be the next Facebook. https://www.techmeme.com/...

Laura Ingraham: “Would you recommend that people download that app [TikTok] on their phones tonight...?” Mike Pompeo: “Only if you want your private information in the hands of the Chinese Communist Party.” https://www.foxnews.com/...
