    Facebook investment in Jio is bad for Tiktok and other popular Chinese apps. If you cannot win with your product, win with lobbying. Berkshire portfolio companies have done it in past. So did standard oil🙃😄

    Facebook is possibly betting on Rel Jio becoming India's Alibaba which controls 58% e-commerce in China, including B to B. Can Rel Jio replicate Alibaba? Does it have a true e-commerce business culture- flat and non-feudal? That is a billion dollar question.

    What does Facebook get by plonking down $5.7 billion dollars for its stake in Reliance Jio? Remember that Facebook owns WhatsApp WhatsApp has 400 million users in India. WhatsApp has been trying for a UPI license for some time now (approval for upto 10 million users in Feb).
