@ledrapeaurouge @karinaleeclark People losing income over the cancellation is awful (I recently cancelled a tour in EU for the same reasons) but A) it's a pandemic and B) SXSW (specifically the tech side) has been the catalyst for Austin residents to suffer some of the highest re…

Unfortunate, but understable action from EA. However why not keep qualifiers for FUT Cup VI, and expand the tournament to 64 players with the prizepool combined from the cancelled event? https://twitter.com/...

Think about the SXSW cancellation ... that's a ton of lost hours and lost tips. These are going to be liquidity constrained people who'll have to pull back spending. And it's gonna be service & hospitality workers in every world city.

This is important. I think a lot of people outside of the industry view SXSW as a largely corporate event, but *so many* regular, working people organize their whole year around this one week and depend on it for a large proportion of their incomes. https://twitter.com/...

#SXSW brings in more than 300 million dollars to Austin, Texas. The fact the mayor cancelled it reflects both responsibility and the potentially severe virality of #CoronaVirus. Trump cut the CDC budget. He has Pence in charge. We don't have enough testing kits. Lord.
