In a ballot count today, we learned that our staff voted 46 to 37 in favor of a union. Kickstarter's leadership supports and respects their decision. We're proud of our staff and of the fair and democratic process that got us here.
I congratulate the workers of Kickstarter, the first major tech company to vote for a union. These workers are setting an example for the entire industry. Tech employees deserve job security, strong wages and benefits, and a voice in their companies. https://www.nytimes.com/...
So, what does this mean? 1) Our media blackout is now over (did you miss us? ) 2) We'll begin discussing our priorities and forming an inclusive and representative bargaining committee for everyone at Kickstarter so that we can... 3) Bargain our first contract! #1u
Congrats on “winning” a union to represent you! Personally, I would have rather you all got stock options & @kickstarter went public... but different strokes for different folks I suppose. 🤦🏻♂ ️ https://twitter.com/...
Ummmm... @BernieSanders have you been to a tech company?! someone want to explain to crazy grandpa that tech employees have absurd job security, ridiculously high wages, benefits that are so strong they're parodied & endless all hands meetings to voice opinions 😂 🤦🏻♂ ️ 🤷🏼♂ ️ 😂 …
It doesn't matter who you are, where you're from or what job you're in: being part of a union means a better deal for you and your workmates. Welcome to the union family Kickstarter, you're blazing a trail for tech workers everywhere. https://www.vice.com/...
Me on Kickstarter Union vote: “signals to workers across the tech industry that it is both desirable and possible to build collective structures to influence wages, working conditions and even business decisions.” https://www.nytimes.com/...
Congrats to these employees! Our economy is changing, but one thing that should not is the right of all workers to organize — no matter where they work. That includes tech. #SupportUnions https://twitter.com/...
