It's “ultra thin glass”... that still provides zero measurable benefit over regular plastic. Nice. Either way, Samsung got what they wanted from big name tech YouTubers repeating this marketing bs. Shoutout to @ZacksJerryRig for doing the Lord's work. https://www.youtube.com/...

What a fail. They should just say it's as strong as plastic and include a vinyl ghost armour style protector. Especially if a fingernail will permanently damage the touch screen. Or include Galaxy Nail Clippers™️ https://www.theverge.com/...

Samsung has a lot of explaining to do. The Galaxy Z Fold's supposedly glass screen just failed the most basic scratch tests by @ZacksJerryRig. We got Samsung's initial explanation. It's here. It's insufficient. https://www.theverge.com/...

Guys, Samsung made homeopathic glass. https://www.theverge.com/... https://twitter.com/...

Looks like Samsung may be using some sort of fusion of glass and plastic for the #GalaxyZFlip display but it definitely does not have the durability of real glass. Great detailed durability test by @ZacksJerryRig as always ►►► https://www.youtube.com/... https://twitter.com/...

LOL “The Z Flip starts picking up damage at level 2 and more significantly at 3, which is on par with the plastic screens of the Galaxy Fold and more recent Motorola Razr.” https://www.theverge.com/...

So effectively the screen is still plastic. 😩 Galaxy Z Flip durability test calls Samsung's Ultra Thin “Glass” into question https://www.theverge.com/... via @Verge

Apple: Our camera lens is sapphire! Samsung: World's first bendable glass! Mohs doesn't lie. Let's do better phone companies. @ZacksJerryRig https://www.youtube.com/...

Truly don't understand Samsung's insistence on shipping what are evidently concept devices https://twitter.com/...

Worlds first “flexible glass” display vs the @ZacksJerryRig durability test reveals it's... not much different from plastic, let's be real. https://www.youtube.com/... https://twitter.com/...

looks like the Z Flip's glass is a lot like the male ego https://twitter.com/...

Nice to know Galaxy Z Flip will have (1) Optional free screen protector professionally installed (2) $119 one-time screen repair should you break it. No doubt it's a delicate display, comparatively, but this stuff has to start somewhere. https://www.theverge.com/... https://twitt…

Let's say it's just the protective layer being scratched. Sure. Even then, what's the point of “Ultra Thin Glass” if customers have to seek out a specialized screen protector or replace the display for $120 when that layer gets scratched badly enough? https://www.theverge.com/...
  • @reckless Nilay Patel on x
Third time I've said it this month: nothing screams “this product is broken and not ready” like avoiding reviewers https://www.theverge.com/...
  • @backlon Dieter Bohn on x
After @ZacksJerryRig showed the Z Flip scratches very easily, we got comment from Samsung. The company stands by the claim that it's “Ultra Thin Glass.” Scratching is apparently on a plastic protective layer above the glass @chriswelch has sthe story https://www.theverge.com/...
  • @tomwarren Tom Warren on x
Samsung's “glass” display on the Galaxy Z Flip is a lie. It's plastic that scratches really easily 🙄 https://www.theverge.com/... https://twitter.com/...
