  Being CEO of TikTok US is a quite a thorny, diplomatic, & risky role. Lots of complex dealings with China. I think past Snapchat execs like @NickBell or @Blo might be good fits from a content/product perspective https://www.bloomberg.com/...

  @sarahfrier We're told Vanessa Pappas (@v_ness), who runs TikTok's U.S. business out of LA, will keep doing that and this hire won't impact her role. She actually just wrote a blog post today: TikTok's U.S. team has over 400 employees! https://newsroom.tiktok.com/ ...

  @sarahfrier Lots of unknowns still, and it sounds like this role may evolve depending on who is hired/interested. But two main points I heard through reporting: * Having a U.S.-based CEO might help with concerned U.S. regulators * It's hard to run a business in the west from Asia
