Weeks earlier, fellow Tel Aviv-area chipmaker Vayyar pulled in a $109M Series D for its radar-imaging sensors, and in May Intel Capital led a $17M round in TriEye, another Tel Aviv sensor startup betting on a different part of the spectrum.

The cluster matters because these companies are attacking the same problem from different angles — imaging radar, thermal cameras, short-wave infrared — all positioning radar-family sensing as the cheaper, weather-proof layer of the autonomous vehicle stack that lidar players like Quanergy have struggled to make affordable.
