Sarah Lacy and Paul Carr sell Pando, seven years after launching it, to ad-tech company BuySellAds, which bought Digg in 2018

If there is a single moment when it seemed like my journalism career suddenly caught fire, it was the 2006 Business Week cover story I wrote about the rise of Web 2.0 companies.

“Paul Carr and I have sold Pando to a brand new owner. And for the first time in my career, I am no longer a journalist.” https://www.pando.com/... via @pandodaily

Pando daily was and is trash. TBH I'm surprised it's still around.

The end of an era... I am incredibly proud of the work we did in those early days at Pando & the audience we built. All good things come to an end & to Sarah's point, the industry is in a different phase. Thx @sarahcuda, Paul, @eringriffith, @hamishmckenzie, @Penenberg and crew h…

It seems especially 2019 that a pioneering, fiercely independent investigative tech-journalism site is being acquired by a company called — and I am not making this up — BuySellAds: https://pando.com/...

Paul Carr & co have danced on the graves of credible, courageous media sites w/more talent than they'll ever know, but the real Pando was the friends we made along the way & our shared outrage over their inaccurate reporting & ongoing harassment campaigns https://pando.com/...

I don't ever want to celebrate the failure of a news organization, no matter how terrible. But Sarah Lacy has publicly celebrated the layoffs/demise of two of my former workplaces, so it's hard to be the bigger person. https://pando.com/...

I started following @sarahcuda on Twitter as a college sophomore and nearly fell out of my chair when she emailed me out of the blue over two years ago to work on her new company @TheChairmanMom. Onwards and upwards, but I'll miss Pando: http://bit.ly/35Ufq01

Good news: Sarah Lacy and Paul Carr will no longer be able to extort local small businesses with Pando. https://pando.com/...

Pando should be remembered for being right about Uber. However it should also be remembered they shared investors with Lyft and Peter Thiel was one of them pic.twitter.com/RHTFlFyKjw

I know Pando had been quiet for a long time, but this feels like the door finally shutting completely on a particular era of tech media. https://twitter.com/...
