Tile is making a platform pivot: rather than waiting for consumers to buy more of its own fobs, it has signed Qualcomm, Dialog, Silicon Labs, and Toshiba to bake Tile tracking support directly into their BLE chips, so any gadget built on those parts can join Tile's finder network out of the box. The move follows the $45M opening commitment to its Series C earlier that year, which gave it capital to push beyond selling hardware.
