Google says Fast Pair, its Bluetooth pairing spec, now pairs Bluetooth accessories across devices sharing a Google account and will support Chromebooks in 2019

Earlier this month, Google released a Fast Pair Validator app on the Play Store to help Bluetooth manufacturers support Android's seamless Bluetooth pairing solution.

Fast Pair began as a single-device convenience: when Google launched it in November 2017 it cut Bluetooth pairing down to a tap, but only between one phone and one accessory, and only on Android 6 and up (the original announcement). This update changes the unit of pairing from the device to the Google account — an accessory paired once becomes available across every device signed into that account — and extends the spec beyond Android to Chromebooks, promised for 2019.
