This agreement extends a pattern of cross-vendor web collaboration that began with the joint launch of WebAssembly in 2015: rivals who compete on browsers agreeing to share the platform's plumbing. By consolidating documentation into Mozilla's MDN portal, five of the biggest names in the web ecosystem are admitting that per-browser reference sites fragment developer knowledge more than they differentiate products.
