Pinterest has spent 2017 building out Lens, which it debuted in beta in February as a camera tool that identifies real-world objects and suggests related products, then quickly added dish recognition for recipes and food filters. The company first brought ads to users' home feeds back in 2015; today's move connects those two threads by letting image recognition decide which ads appear.
