Nikita Bier, X's head of product, accused the EU executive of trying to amplify its own social media post about the fine on X by trying …

The irony of your announcement: You logged into your dormant ad account to take advantage of an exploit in our Ad Composer — to post a link that deceives users into thinking it's a video and to artificially increase its reach. As you may be aware, X believes everyone should

Today, we fined X for non-compliance with transparency obligations under the DSA. We're holding X accountable for: 🔹Deceptive design of its ‘blue checkmark’ 🔹Lack of transparency of its advertising repository 🔹Failure to provide access to public data for researchers ↓

Americans probably don't know the European Commission is an unelected executive body of the European Union, that also has the sole authority to propose legislation for the EU. The EU ‘parliament’ merely ratifies or rejects things. So the Commission proposes the rules, and

@EU_Commission If you read the full text of the Digital Service Act, you will see that it gives the EU Commission powers to fine and sanction Big Tech companies based on vaguely worded obligations like protecting “civic discourse,” combating “disinformation” etc. Essentially, a b…

You say it's not about censorship ("content moderation") but it is. You want to censor who gets verified. And you want X to give government-picked “researchers” special access to data so they can demand censorship. The Twitter Files revealed your censorship-by-proxy scam.

@EU_Commission Imagine posting about a fine on the actual platform you're fining.

This is bullshit. If they know of this “exploit”, why is it still there? Perhaps because it is actually a feature and a way to use the tool. This reaction comes from Musk's directives to promote his political and business interests, which are completely anti-Europe.

Just to show you guys what Nikita is talking about. When you tap on the video in the @EU_Commission tweet... instead of the video expanding it takes you to a article instead: [video]

This is actually hilarious. The EU used a legit ad account to push the message they are suing x. They get their ad account banned for apparently doing a deceptive practice but get a ton of free impressions because top x employees quote it. Kind of a huge EU W tbh

The fact that the European Commission managed to find an exploit in x is as funny as the fact that x actually cares. Anyways, as long as Elon has his multiplier for his own content, this whole platform is a joke. So sad for the people who build Twitter.
