    the base iPhone is great value this year, and if you needed something more then you'd go for the Pro. The iPhone Air just made little sense, especially when consumers value battery life so much

    I feel vindicated in my yearly observation after each Apple announcement that people don't want a thinner phone, they want longer lasting battery.  [embedded post]

    Apple's $1,000 ultra thin iPhone Air which has fewer cameras and worse battery life than the $800 iPhone 17 is selling so poorly they're second guessing the next release.  —  They really misjudged their audience by betting thinness at the expense of user value was the way to go.

    @Techmeme The customer apparently doesn't want a skinnier phone, and the customer doesn't seem to want AI stuffed into it.  I think people want good, reliable apps that work well together, and more than a pretense of data security.  The company seems adrift again.
