Charlie Javice sentenced to 7 years: Still, the judge criticized the bank, saying “they have a lot to blame themselves” after failing to do adequate due diligence. He quickly added, though, that he was “punishing her conduct and not JPMorgan's stupidity.”

Another Javice lawyer: Frank was a real company, it had value, it could have had value to JPMorgan. This court should follow Judges Swain and Rakoff and not apply any enhancement. AUSA Micah Fergenson: The acquisition for $175 million, the loss was $174 million.

Javice: I am asking forgiveness from the shareholders of JPMorgan Chase. To every Frank employee or investor who was stained by proximity to me, I ask forgiveness. To every student or family that depended on Frank, I ask for your forgiveness.
