Jaguar Land Rover is an iconic British company - a jewel in the crown of our economy. Today we are protecting thousands of those jobs with up to £1.5 billion in additional private finance, protecting a vital part of the British car industry. https://www.bbc.com/...

Jaguar Land Rover is Indian-owned, having previously been U.S-owned until it was sold to Tata in 2008. Jaguar Land Rover has only existed as a brand since 2013. This is a deeply embarrassing tweet, by somebody so out of their depth they may as well be called Rachel Amorim.

Full article with unfortunately no real details on the nature of the attack and why they cannot eg restore systems / lock down access etc It smells of a company that got caught with pants down, unprepared and now dearly paying the price https://www.autocar.co.uk/...

How is this not bigger news in tech/security circles. Jaguar Land Lover lost $250M (£200M) and counting thanks to a cyberattack that it still couldn't mitigate. This is growing every week. The cost of underinvesting in security is very real. 1+ month recovery is bonkers [image]

If Jaguar Land Rover is now an Indian company owned by Tata, Why is the UK providing £1.5 billion, and not Tata, which made over $180 billion in revenue last year?

This is a perfect example of why we need to shift to expecting orgs will be attacked - the financial cost is huge. — I've always argued that the financial cost of an attack can be hard to estimate but can be enormous. — Government to guarantee £1.5bn JLR loan www.bbc.com/news…
