    In 2017 we knew that programmers at big tech companies had no appetite to unionize, so we tried to push for more targeted goals like “make management give you a board seat”, with zero success. It's frustrating that employee power was there for the taking and no one bothered.

    FWIW. as of earlier this week a person familiar with the policy said Meta would still be cover the cost of employees who seek abortions out of state because their state has limits on the procedure. I asked because of the news that the company's footprint in Texas was growing.

    I had dinner with several Fortune 500 CEOs. One shared a story about calling Mark Zuckerberg after the NZ shooting had spread like crazy on FB. He had one Q for Zuck: “What is your North Star?” Zuck didn't have one. He didn't even understand the Q. This week, we saw that.
