Google unveils Password Manager PIN to let Chrome users sync passkeys across Windows, macOS, Linux, ChromeOS, and Android devices, with iOS support coming soon

Google had already expanded its built-in password manager across Chrome and Android, including manual password entry and a unified interface. It then began testing passkey sign-ins in Android and Chrome, moving the manager from password storage toward credentialless authentication.

The new PIN-based synchronization addresses the practical cross-device gap in that rollout: Chrome users can carry passkeys among major desktop and Android platforms, while iOS remains the notable pending platform.
