Regarding the Lawsuit Yesterday, a lawsuit was filed against our company for patent infringement. We have received notice of this lawsuit and will begin the appropriate legal proceedings and investigations into the claims of patent infringement. At this moment, we are unaware

@tomwarren Surprised this lawsuit didn't happen sooner - after seeing how close some of the creature designs looked to Pokémon

Yo, I'm starting to see a pattern here lol.😅😅😅 NEXON sues Ironmace, KRAFTON makes Dark and Darker Mobile. NINTENDO sues Pocketpair, KRAFTON makes Palworld Mobile.

this is interesting - they filed a patent lawsuit, *not copyright* so instead of saying Palworld is copying their art or whatever, they're alleging that Palworld is copying their patents (possibly on things like gameplay systems?) wish I had the lawsuit document to look at

Palworld maker Pocketpair has responded to Nintendo and The Pokémon Company's patent infringement lawsuit. It says it's unaware of any patents it has violated, and will begrudgingly begin investigating the claims https://www.theverge.com/... [image]

I don't know whether or not Nintendo has a case here. My first thought was, “If you're gonna sue the developers of Palworld, what the heck took you EIGHT MONTHS to do it?” And really it's more, as this game was announced a while ago. https://www.ign.com/...

the way the internet turn palworld into the second coming of jesus for two weeks, getting it to be one of the best selling titles of the year and dropping it just as fast on top of the creatively bankrupt designs has gotta be one of the funniest gaming stories of the year

As someone who dropped Palworld 45 minutes in: I cannot describe how badly I want to see Nintendo lose this

Probably took as long for building their case, but this coming off the back of their recent ambitions for multimedia expansion through Palworld Entertainment (with Sony's Aniplex involved) probably puts a spanner in any plans they had going for that

nintendo are so infuriated palworld wasn't able to be charged on design copyright grounds, they created a patent for the game mechanic “pointing & aiming an item for launch” specifically just to sue palworld. nintendo fans are so stupid they think it's for trademark infringement …
